EU Knowledge in a Nutshell (in Italian)

The “EU Knowledge in a Nutshell” is 9-video pack (in Italian) focussing on the basics of EU Knowledge.   The online video courses, for a total duration of approximately 7 hours, have been prepared by the European College of Parma.  The videos will enable you to discover the fundamentals on the following topics: 

1. EU History: gives an overview of the milestones of EU integration from after WWII to nowadays (1 hour 30 minutes approx.) 
2. EU Institutional Framework: illustrates the functions and role of the Institutions of the European Union, with their main tasks, competences and organisation (1 hour 30 minutes approx.) 
3. EU Legal System: outlines the decision-making process in the EU, from Primary Law (Treaties, Charter of Fundamental Rights) to Secondary Law (Regulations, Directives and Decisions) (1 hour 30 minutes approx.) 
4. EU Budget: gives an overview on how the EU is financed, the multiannual financial framework, the annual budget and how expenditures are monitored (30 minutes approx.) 
5. EU Economic Governance: introduces the main coordination mechanisms that Member States have to follow before adopting their national budget (20 minutes approx.).  
6. Common Agricultural Policy: presents an overview on the first common policy, its evolution, reforms and current challenges (45 minutes approx.) 
7. EU Cohesion Policy: offers an outline on one of the most important EU policies, aimed at reducing regional disparities and promoting harmonious development (25 minutes approx.) 
8. EU External Action: gives an overview on EU relations with third countries (30 minutes approx.) 
9. Next Generation EU: offers a “rough guide” on the Next Gen programme, launched in 2021 to reinforce the recovery and resilience of EU economy, following the dramatic consequences of the pandemic (15 minutes approx.).
