Diploma in European Studies Online (DES)

The European College of Parma Foundation provides you with the opportunity to achieve the “Diploma in European Studies Online” (DES). You can attend up to 8 Subject Modules separately, online, delving into the decision-making mechanisms and policies of the European Union, take the relevant Exams, and obtain the Diploma.

In order to achieve the final “Diploma in European Studies Online” certificate, you need to attend at least 80% of the Courses, included in the Academic Programme. Therefore, attendances will be recorded. Online Courses have to be followed with the camera switched on. If the camera is kept off for more than 15 minutes (per hour, on average), the Student will be marked as “absent”.

The Course is held in English.

Admission Requirements

The Diploma in European Studies Online is open to graduate students (holding Bachelor’s or Master’s Degrees) as well as to undergraduates who are in their final year (about to achieve their Bachelor’s).

A minimum level of English B1 is required.

January 2024 – June 2024

Academic Programme

The Course includes Frontal Lectures, Seminars and Interactive Exercises.

Academic Activities takes mainly place from Monday to Friday, in synchronous mode, with the opportunity to interact with the Professors, live streamed, from the European College’s Premises, and with the Students of the Diploma and University Master in Advanced European Studies (DAES).

Some Lectures may be also held on Saturday.

Interactive Exercises and, in general, practical activities, related to the Diploma in European Studies Online, will be coordinated by an Academic Tutor.

Course Modules

The Diploma in European Studies Online includes 8 Modules:

History, Politics and Institutions of the EU
EU Legal System and Law
Policies that Made Europe
EU Economy and Governance
EU External Action
Strategic Sectors, Funding and EU Projects
Green Deal, Digital Transition, Health and Food
“EU Careers” Workshop

Each of the above Modules can be attended separately. In such case, the fees, settled for the individual Modules, will be applied. Attendance Certificates will be issued after the end of each Module.

Study Visits

Students of the Diploma in European Studies Online, who want to join the Study Visits, organized by the European College of Parma Foundation, may apply upon the payment of a registration fee, which will be set, from time to time, according to the activity.

Exams

In order to obtain the Final Certificate of the Diploma in European Studies Online, Students must take 8 Exams, and write an Essay. Admission to the Exams is subject to attendance of at least 80% of the classes, pertaining to the specific Programme.
